Joanne Butler - Director of ISAS

Joanne Butler - Director of ISAS - ISAS

Jo joined the charity in March 2013 as Director of Services. She has a wealth of experience in the third sector, her specialisms being funding and business planning. Jo has an excellent reputation across the public and third sector networks for her professionalism and strategic thinking, skills that will be well utilised to ensure ISAS continues to thrive.



Daniel McKay - Activities Coordinator

Daniel McKay - Activities Coordinator - ISAS

Dan joined ISAS in June 2015 as the Activates Coordinator mainly facilitating the therapeutic drumming groups in Nottingham and Mansfield and also facilitating the art group in Nottingham. Dan has been involved in music from the age of 14 playing in all sorts of bands with a number of instruments. He plays drums, guitar, flute, mandolin, and plays in 3 bands at the moment and has had success playing festivals like Bestivial, Boomtown etc. and multiple European tours. Dan has attended the ‘OPUS Music in Healthcare Settings’ course and has a BA Hons in Fine Art, from Cardiff University. Through Dan’s experience in performing he inspires clients to develop confidence in group work and his holistic approach also encourages interpersonal development.



Sue Patience-Brown - Clinical Co-Ordinator (Nottingham Branch)

Sue Patience-Brown - Clinical Co-Ordinator (Nottingham Branch)  - ISAS

Sue joined the Charity after a 25 year career as a nurse, qualifying in Humanistic Counselling from University of Nottingham in 2007. Working from a person-centred client lead approach. Sue has a vast amount of experience working with survivors of sexual abuse followed by excellent results. Sue as studied the effects food has on mental health the aim is to empower clients through enabling their connection with food and how that effects the body and mind. Sues other role with ISAS is the Clinical Lead for Nottingham, supporting/ supervising qualified and student Counsellors through their journey with ISAS.



Stephanie de Carpentier - Clinical Lead / Office Manager

Stephanie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Drama and Psychology and a Master’s degree in Dramatherapy. Stephanie started with ISAS as a volunteer on placement and then became the office administrator; now Stephanie is clinical lead for the Newark, Mansfield and Worksop areas; as well as being the office manager, working mainly from the head office in Newark. Working from a person centred approach, Stephanie works with what the client brings to the session and understands that the therapeutic relationship lays the foundation for healing. The therapeutic relationship is defined by respect and a non-judgemental approach. Stephanie would describe herself as passionate, caring and approachable.



Abbie Butler - Office Administrator

Abbie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and recently joined the team in November 2018 as our new office administrator. She has an interest in creative therapies, and is considering a master’s degree in the future. She has a wealth of computer skills, and experience in customer facing roles.
